1st Trimester Conquered!

Well, we did it... we made it through the first trimester. And by we, I mean Ryan and I, because he also had to deal with all my hormonal symptoms. (He's such a great guy) Here are just some of my wonderful symptoms I had and some I am still having:

  • My face broke out- I look like a teenager going through puberty (No pregnancy glow here)

  • I was nauseous from week 6 to week 10

  • I have more headaches now but so far only one migraine

  • I've been extremely tired and exhausted but that's slowly getting better

  • I think I'm always hungry

  • I get heartburn and all that fun stuff easily now

  • I haven't been able to eat broccoli yet (and I usually love it) but other than that, if you put it in front of me, I will eat it :)

  • No real weird cravings, but I do love getting #3 at Adobe (cheese Enchiladas) and cutting them up and mixing them with the rice and beans and then topping it with hot sauce...yummm

  • Ryan had to make one midnight run to McDonalds for some chicken nuggets and another for Big Red soda.

  • I've been sore in all the areas that are now growing.

  • I've experienced getting sick, and not being able to take medication I normally would to quickly get over it.

  • Perhaps the worst symptom of all (for Ryan) was my mood swings. Good thing he loves me so much.

There were others but I'll spare you the details :) Let's just say I have a new appreciation (already) for not only my mother but for all mothers. I know that appreciation will only continue to grow throughout this pregnancy and after.

*I have to add that Ryan has also felt many pregnancy symptoms too. He has gotten headaches, queasiness, exhaustion, and eats a lot more (and also has gained weight). Probably from dealing with me but it may also be sympathy symptoms. :)

And now for the most exciting part- my growing belly (You can also see my short haircut and how it is also slowly growing out):

The first picture was taken way back in December when we first started to try, so I had already gained a little weight by the time we got pregnant (but also lost some by cutting all my hair off- I'm not sure if that evened things out though). I've gained 5 lbs. already, and since I know that's not a 5 lb. baby in my tummy, it must be all the breakfast tacos and Mexican food I've been eating. I am definitely giving our baby lots of cushion in there.

Well now we move into the second trimester. More growing and more anticipation. Can't wait!
